What is Life Coaching?
Reflect • Realign • Rise
One shift, one insight, one aligned step at a time.
Sometimes life changes so significantly that the old way of doing things no longer fits.
You may know something needs to change without knowing what comes next. You might feel overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself or uncertain about who you are now.
Coaching creates space to pause, understand what is happening and decide how you want to move forward.
What Happens in Coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative process.
You bring your life, experiences and hopes. I bring focused listening, thoughtful questions, practical tools and a structure that helps you turn insight into meaningful action.
Together, we explore:
Where you are now
What is no longer working
What matters most to you
What you want to change or create
What may be keeping you stuck
What choices are available to you
What realistic step you are ready to take next
You remain in control of your decisions and direction. My role is not to tell you how to live your life. It is to help you hear yourself more clearly, recognise possibilities and move forward in a way that genuinely fits you.
Why Work With a Coach?
When you are living inside a situation, it can be difficult to see it clearly.
Friends and family may care deeply, but they may also have opinions, expectations or emotional involvement in the choices you make.
Coaching gives you a confidential and nonjudgmental space where the focus remains on you.
It can help you:
Reduce overwhelm and create clarity
Understand your thoughts, emotions and patterns
Reconnect with your identity, strengths and values
Make decisions with greater confidence
Establish healthier boundaries
Move from reflection into action
Remain accountable to the changes you choose
Build a way forward that works in your real life
You do not need to be broken, failing or in crisis to benefit from coaching. You may simply know that something has shifted and you no longer want to navigate it alone.
Does Coaching Examine the Past?
Coaching primarily focuses on your present and future, but that does not mean your past is ignored.
Your experiences have shaped your beliefs, patterns, relationships and understanding of who you are. We may explore the past when it helps you recognise what is influencing your life today.
The purpose is not to diagnose or treat what happened. It is to understand what you have carried forward, decide what still serves you and make conscious choices about what happens next.
Your past may help explain you, but it does not have to define your future.
Coaching, Therapy, Counselling and Mentoring
Each offers valuable support, but they serve different purposes.
Coaching
Coaching focuses on awareness, choice, growth and forward movement. It helps you clarify what you want, understand what may be getting in the way and take meaningful action.
Therapy and Counselling
Therapy and counselling are provided by appropriately qualified mental health professionals. They may assess, diagnose and treat mental health conditions, support trauma recovery and help people manage significant emotional or psychological distress.
Mentoring
A mentor draws on their own experience or expertise to offer guidance, knowledge and advice. A coach is less likely to give you their answer and more likely to help you discover the answer that fits you.
These forms of support do not have to compete. Coaching can work alongside medical treatment, therapy or counselling when appropriate.
What Coaching Is Not
Coaching is not:
Therapy, counselling or psychological treatment
Medical or mental health diagnosis
Crisis intervention
Someone taking control of your life
Advice disguised as coaching
A promise that change will always be quick or easy
Coaching works best when you are willing to be honest, curious and actively involved in creating change.
Confidentiality and Ethical Practice
What you share during coaching is treated with care and confidentiality.
Before coaching begins, we establish a clear agreement covering the coaching process, privacy, expectations and the limits of confidentiality.
Information may need to be disclosed when required by law or when there is a serious concern about immediate harm. These boundaries are explained clearly before we work together.
I remain aware of the limits of coaching. If your needs fall outside my professional scope, I will discuss this honestly and encourage you to seek support from an appropriately qualified health or mental health professional.
The Life Rewritten Approach
Life Rewritten is for people navigating the chapters they never planned.
My approach is structured but flexible, practical but deeply human. We work with what is real, not an imaginary perfect life.
You will be supported to:
Understand what has changed within and around you
Steady yourself when emotions or circumstances feel overwhelming
Reconnect with who you are beneath other people’s expectations
Decide what you want to carry forward
Create practical changes that fit your capacity and circumstances
Begin writing your next chapter consciously
You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin.
You don’t need fixing. You need support that meets you where you are.
